Meet The Team
Jimmy Tomes born in 1980 in Detroit, MI. He started his tattooing career with an apprenticeship in 1995 at his family-run Tattoo shop called Finest Touch Tattoos. Jimmy and his wife moved to Florida in 2007 where he worked for the last 12 years in a Deerfield shop. His passion is doing Black and Grey mostly but he does have a great eye for color and Japanese tattoos as well.
Steve’s passion for art goes back to his roots in San Jose, CA, where he dabbled in multiple genres and took his first art classes. He moved to Florida in his teens, where he continued to pursue his passion for the arts and the first developed an admiration and curiosity for tattoos. After dabbling in different careers, he got a job working in a tattoo shop in Orlando as a non-artist. That is where Steve decided to follow his dreams and pursue a career in tattooing. He got his first apprenticeship in West Palm Beach in 2017. After that, he wound up in Louisiana where he continued his apprenticeship. His journey brought him full circle back to South Florida, where he completed his apprenticeship at Ink Boss under James “Jimmy” Tomes. Steve leans towards American Traditional and Neo-traditional, and a lot of his drawing designs tend to be pop-culture mash-ups. In his free time, Steve loves playing basketball, camping, lounging on the beach, and spending quality time with family.
Originally from Venezuela, Manny moved to Sunny South Florida in 2001. Since he was in high school he always had a love for drawing and art but never knew how to get started in this industry. Luckily, a year ago an apprenticeship here at Ink Boss opened up and he decided to take that opportunity to explore the possibilities that could come from working under the artists here. Eager to put his art on skin, he looks up to artists such as Ray Arce (@Tatted_Taco, and Jose (@canti__) due to their heavy neo-traditional influence and his love for their work.
In his spare time, you can find Manny raising his Daughter or playing basketball and video games.
Born and raised in Peru, Elvis has been fond of art from a very young age. In college, he developed a love for audiovisuals that led him to win some awards with his films. In 2017 he immigrated to Florida where he rediscovered his love for art. Fascinated by the meaning and representation of tattoos, he decided to start as an apprentice at Ink Boss. His favorite styles are neo-traditional, black and gray, realism, Japanese, and cartoon/anime. Some of his favorite artists are George Burchett, Nikko Hurtado, and Jesse Smith.
